Miller-Waters Family Scholarship

The Miller-Waters Family Scholarship is designated for students pursuing studies in the area of education. This endowment was created in 2021 by Shepherd alumni Emily Waters '57 and Althea Miller '57. Eight members of the Miller-Waters family graduated from Shepherd, including Althea's late husband Frank Miller '55, nearly all of whom majored in education.

The Moler General Scholarship is an endowed fund created by the Shepherd University Foundation for the purpose of funding need-based general academic scholarships. The fund was named in honor of one of the founders and longtime president of the Shepherd Foundation, Dr. James M. Moler. Donors who wish to build for the future of Shepherd University by making endowed gifts for scholarships may choose to give to this fund in any amount.

Monte Cater Silver Anniversary Endowed Football Scholarship

The Monte Cater Silver Anniversary Endowed Football Scholarship is designated for football student athletes. It was created in 2011 by Al `67 and Sara `67 Lueck, both long time supporters of the football program, to honor Coach Cater's 25 years as head football coach. During his tenure, Coach Cater has built a program considered to be among the best in Division II football.

The Mr. and Mrs. C. David Miller Scholarship is designated as a general academic award for WV residents who have taken at least one year off between high school and college. This endowment was created in 1988 by retired teachers C. David '63 and Barbara Ann '53 Miller. The Millers have also included Shepherd University in their estate plans and are members of the Joseph P. McMurran Society.

The Multicultural Leadership Scholarship is designated as a general academic award for students who display leadership skills and who actively participate in the Multicultural Leadership Program, including the multicultural recruitment of minority students. This endowment was created by Reverend Ernest Lyles and is funded by the Shepherdstown Ministerial Association, the Black Clergy Fellowship of Jefferson County, WV, and the Shepherd University Foundation.
