John F. Schmidt Scholarship
The Dr. John F. Schmidt Scholarship is designated for students majoring in chemistry who have completed at least one year at Shepherd University. This endowed fund was created in 2002 by former students Brent '89 and Lisa '90 May and Drs. Jeff '88 and Beverly '87 Purnell to honor their chemistry professor, Dr. John Schmidt.
John F. Torrence and Shepherdstown Lutheran Parish Scholarship
The Reverend John Torrence and Shepherdstown Lutheran Parish Scholarship is designated as general academic award, with first preference given to students who are members of Shepherdstown Lutheran Parish. This endowment was created by members of the Shepherdstown Lutheran Parish in honor of Rev. John Torrence's 62 years of ministerial work. Rev. Torrence served as the long-time minister at St. James' and St. Peter's in the Shepherdstown Lutheran Parish.
John Glenn Phillips Memorial Economics Scholarship
The John Glenn Phillips Memorial Scholarship is designated for third-year economics students who have attended Shepherd University for at least two semesters. This endowment was established by Dr. Edward Phillips, a former professor of economics at Shepherd, in memory of his brother. John Glenn Phillips was a professional economist who consulted on many public and private sector projects.
John Knipe Memorial Scholarship
The Joseph Knipe Memorial Scholarship is designated for education majors. This endowment was established in 1977 in honor of well-respected Shepherd faculty member, Dr. John Knipe, who was a professor of human development and a supporter of future teachers.
John L. and Anna Hill Egle Memorial Scholarship
The John L. and Anna Hill Egle Memorial Scholarship is designated as a general academic award. This endowment was established in memory of Anna Hill Egle shortly after her death in 1964. John L. Egle served as Shepherd's business manager from 1944 to 1962. His name was added to the scholarship after his passing in 1985.
John L. and Pat Moler Egle Scholarship
The John L. and Pat Moler Egle Scholarship is designated for biology or chemistry majors from WV. This deferred gift was established by Jack '61 and Pat '60 Egle, whose Shepherd educations allowed them to pursue careers in the biology and chemistry fields.
John P. and Linda M. Strider Scholarship
The John P. and Linda M. Strider Scholarship is designated for students majoring in accounting or business. This endowment was created in 2003 by John '68 and Linda '69 Strider in appreciation of the scholarship John received while studying business at Shepherd. He and Linda now own their own accounting firm.
John R. Conard Science Fund
The John Conard Science Fund is designated as program support for the Shepherd University science department, for which it funds departmental support, annual awards, and scholarships for division majors. This endowment was created in memory of John Conard '38, who passed away in 1999.
John T. Reynolds Endowed Chair in Chemistry
The John T. Reynolds Endowed Chair in Chemistry is designated for the recruitment, recognition, and retention of outstanding faculty in chemistry. This endowment was created in 2010 by John T. Reynolds '64, a former member of the Shepherd University Foundation board of directors. The award is an homage to John's chemistry degree obtained at Shepherd.
John Thomas Reynolds Scholarship
The John Thomas Reynolds Scholarship is designated as a general academic award for students with a 3.0+ GPA. This endowment was established in honor of John T. Reynolds '64 by his father, Thomas Guy Reynolds Jr. '33.
