Jonathan Paul Daily Endowed Scholarship

The Jonathan P. Daily Endowed Scholarship is designated for applied mathematics students. This endowed fund was established by Dr. Larry Daily after his son's passing in 2011. Jonathan utilized his applied mathematics degree from George Mason University in his job at the Leetown Science Center, where he modeled insect populations in local streams. He had been published in the Journal of Ecology in addition to successfully questioning a methodology in his field at professional conferences. Larry felt Jonathan was well on his way to creating his own legacy in the field of applied mathematics at the time of his death, and created this award to perpetuate that legacy.
