David C. Eldridge Scholarship
The David C. Eldridge Scholarship is designated for WV residents pursuing a degree in one of the sciences. This endowment was established in 2002 to honor Dr. David Eldridge, who retired after 28 years as a professor of physics at Shepherd University. Dr. Eldridge passed away in 2010.
David L. Dunlop Honors Scholarship
The David Dunlop Honors Scholarship is designated as a general academic award for students in the Honors Program. This endowed fund was established to honor Dr. David Dunlop, Shepherd University's 14th president.
Dawn E. Beaumont University Faculty Excellence Fund
The Dawn E. Beaumont University Faculty Excellence Fund is designated for faculty excellence awards for visiting professors, alumni or dignitaries as determined by the president of Shepherd University. This endowment was created in 2012 by the proceeds of the Dawn E. Beaumont estate.
Dayton and Donna Hinke Scholarship
The Dayton and Donna Hinke Endowed Scholarship is designated as a general academic award with preference given to WV residents. This endowment was established by Donna Hinke in memory of her husband.
Deborah Dhayer Scholarship
The Deborah Dhayer Scholarship is designated for female student athletes, with preference given to those who play softball and women's basketball. This endowed fund was created by former Shepherd Foundation Board member Deborah Dhayer '74, who is an avid supporter of women's athletics.
Delta Sigma Pi, Epsilon Kappa Alumni Association Scholarship
The Delta Sigma Pi, Epsilon Kappa Alumni Association Scholarship was created in 2013 and is to be awarded to students enrolled at Shepherd University who are a member of the Shepherd University business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi, Epsilon Kappa Chapter.
Dennis Frye Civil War Semester Scholarship
The Dennis Frye Civil War Semester Scholarship was created by Dennis Frye in 2019. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled at Shepherd University for the Civil War Semester program.
Dennis L. Barron Scholarship
The Dennis L. Barron Scholarship is designated for deserving students who are residents of Jefferson County, WV. This deferred endowment was established in 2018 by Dennis (Denny) Barron '73, a Shepherd alumnus and lifelong resident of Jefferson County. Denny retired in December 2017 as the executive vice president and chief operations officer of Jefferson Security Bank, where he had worked for 44 years. He now sits on the bank’s Board of Directors. A lifelong participant in the local 4-H program, Denny has served as treasurer of the Jefferson County 4-H Foundation in addition to sitting on the board of directors for Camp Frame, the Hedgesville-based 4-H camp. He has also acted as Entertainment Chair for the Jefferson County Fair since 1975 and served for 28 years as treasurer for the Shepherdstown Fire Department. In 2016, the Shepherdstown Rotary recognized Denny with their highest honor, the Paul Harris Award, in recognition of his outstanding civic work. He has established this scholarship award in order to help deserving students offset the costs associated with higher education, as well as the cost of living after college.
Distinguished Graduate Studies Award
The Distinguished Graduate Studies award recognizes achievement in scholarship and professionalism in the graduate studies program. This annually funded award was created by former graduate studies dean Russell Porter.
District VI Nurses Scholarship
The District VI Nurses Scholarship is designated for high school graduates in District VI of the WV Nurses Association. This endowed fund was established by Mrs. Ruth Painter and the District VI Nurses.
