Dr. Fred Kenamond Business Scholarship
The Dr. Frederick Kenamond Business Scholarship is designated for students majoring in business. This endowment was established by Dr. Frederick Kenamond, a 1937 graduate of Shepherd College. His father, A.D. Kenamond, worked for Shepherd in a number of capacities, including Dean of the University, a position he held with distinction for over 20 years until his retirement in 1948.
Dr. James Pantle Music Education Scholarship
The Dr. James Pantle Music Education Scholarship is designated for students pursuing studies in the areas of music or music education. This endowed fund was established in 2014 by the Shepherd University Department of Music in memory of the beloved professor and coordinator of music education, who was known for his kindness, sincerity, and dedication to his students and colleagues.
Dr. Lee E. and Wanda T. Keebler Scholarship
The Dr. Lee E. and Wanda T. Keebler Scholarship is designated for students pursuing a degree in English or English Secondary Education. This endowment was established in 2018 by Shepherd alumna Wanda T. Keebler '61 in memory of her husband.
Dr. Oliver Ikenberry Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Oliver S. Ikenberry Memorial Scholarship is designated as a general academic award honoring one male and one female student each year for their exemplary community service to Shepherd University. This endowment was established in honor of Dr. Olvier S. Ikenberry, who served as president of Shepherd College for 21 years. President and Mrs. Ikenberry were actively engaged with students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as enthusiastically involved with the community of Shepherdstown.
Dr. Ruth Scarborough Scholarship
The Dr. Ruth Scarborough Scholarship is designated for students studying history or social sciences. This endowed fund was established to honor Dr. Ruth Scarborough, who taught and advised many students during her thirty years at Shepherd.
Dr. Sara H. Cree Scholarship
The Dr. Sara H. Cree Scholarship is designated for health and physical education majors. This endowed fund was established by Dr. Cree, who served as the head of the Physical Education department at Shepherd for many years.
Dr. W.H.S. White Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. W.H.S. White Memorial Scholarship is designated as a general academic award. This endowment was created by the Shepherd University Foundation to honor former Shepherd president W.H.S. White, who served the University from 1920-1947.
Dr. William M. Speg Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. William M. Speg Memorial Scholarship is designated for secondary education majors with above-average academic standing. This endowment was created by Mary M. Speg in memory of her late husband, William, who served as chair of Shepherd's secondary education department in the 1960's. Mary continued to contribute to the scholarship until her own death in 1999.
Dr. William Pringle Scholarship
The Dr. William Pringle Scholarship is designated for students majoring in science. This endowment was established by William (Bill) Pringle '12 in appreciation for his Shepherd education.
Drs. Dorothy and Allison Hively Scholarship
The Drs. Dorothy and Allison Hively Scholarship is designated for education majors, with a portion supporting students in all majors. This deferred endowment was created by Dr. Dorothy and Dr. Alison Hively. Dot is an associate professor of education and the director of Disability Services at Shepherd University.
