Shepherd University is addressing food insecurity among its students by the opening of a food pantry inside Boteler Hall.  Thanks to start-up funding through the President’s Club, a partnership with Mountaineer Food Bank, and community partners New Street United Methodist Church and the Shepherdstown Lion’s Club, the Ram Pantry will offer nonperishable food and some perishable items, such as milk, cheese, and butter.

Annual costs to support the food pantry are estimated to be between $9,000-$11,000. Donations of any size will have a huge impact on the lives of Shepherd University students, faculty, and their families who find funding for food to be a major roadblock to continuing their education.
