Finding Your Artistic Voice Through the Noise
The Scarborough Society of Shepherd University will hold their fall Art and Lecture Series on Tuesday, October 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the Scarborough Library Reading Room. This interactive event features novelist John Gilstrap as he explores the strategies he has used, and continues to use, to tune out the naysayers who say that success is not possible in the arts today. If you find yourself blocked or discouraged or frustrated, here’s a chance to talk to someone who’s found a way to deal with all of it. John is the New York Times bestselling author of thirty thrillers, and he says he hopes this will be more of a workshop than a lecture.
The Scarborough Society is a friends of the library organization sponsored by the Shepherd University Foundation. Annual membership dues help support library acquisitions, technology, and programs. Membership is open to all interested supporters of the Scarborough Library.
The Art and Lecture program is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the lecture.
