This week’s Scholar Spotlight shines on Victoria Librizzi, a senior biochemistry major from Harpers Ferry, WV. Victoria is the recipient of the Merle J. and Josephine Saville Shultz Scholarship. This scholarship is designated for students studying elementary education or science. It was established in 2008 by the children of Merle ’28 and Josephine ’32 Shultz, in memory of their parents who met while students at Shepherd.

“Receiving a Shepherd University Foundation scholarship signifies that the university acknowledges the achievements of its students,” Victoria explained. “To a student, it is encouraging to know that this award is a recognition of the academic effort involved in the pursuit of higher education. I am grateful that the Foundation is fostering a connection between current students and alumni by supporting students’ academic goals and celebrating their successes.”
