The Scholar Spotlight this week features nursing majors Victoria Lassahn and Samantha Lassahn. Victoria is the recipient of the Florence and Velma Shaw Memorial Scholarship and Samantha is the recipient of the William E. and Jo Ann Jackson Knode Scholarship.

“Due to the kindness and generosity of the donors of the Florence and Velma Shaw Memorial Scholarship, I am able to follow my dream of attending a university and taking the steps necessary to enter the nursing program,” said Victoria. “Throughout my time here at Shepherd University, I hope to show the same generosity to others and use the skills I learn in the nursing program to make a difference in the lives of others.”

“Receiving the William E. and Jo Ann Jackson Knode Scholarship has allowed me to complete the steps necessary for applying to the nursing program here at Shepherd,” said Samantha. “Because of the generosity of the Knode family, I am able to foresee a future in my nursing career and spread the kindness and compassion that they gave to me through my work in the hospital.”
