Scholar Spotlight with Skylar McAllister
The Scholar Spotlight this week shines on elementary education major Skylar McAllister. Skylar is a recipient of the Merle J. and Josephine Saville Shultz Scholarship. This award was established in 2008 by the children of Merle ’28 and Josephine ‘32 Shultz in memory of their parents, who met while students at Shepherd. Following in their parents’ footsteps, Jeffrey Shultz ’63, Philip Shultz ’68, and Merelyn Shultz Kaye ’59 also graduated from Shepherd. The scholarship is designated for students studying elementary education or science.
“I am extremely grateful to have received this scholarship because it has alleviated some of my financial need and has allowed me to focus more on my classes and student teaching,” said Skylar.
