The Scholar Spotlight this week features Rebecca Kandalis, a junior art education major from Shepherdstown. Rebecca is a recipient of the Classified Employees Scholarship. This award was created in 1991 by the Classified Employees Council and supports dependents of full-time classified staff members at Shepherd University.

“I am so appreciative of the Classified Employee Scholarship and everyone who has donated to make it possible,” said Rebecca. “Being an art student, this scholarship has given me the opportunity to purchase better quality supplies for my studio art classes which has given me a chance to truly make art I am proud of. In addition, saving so much money on supplies has given me the financial freedom to pursue a master’s degree.”
