Scholar Spotlight with Kristina Kandalis

Our next Scholar Spotlight shines on Kristina Kandalis, a sophomore psychology major from Shepherdstown and recipient of the Shepherd University Classified Employees Scholarship. This general academic award was established in 1991 for dependents of full-time or regular part-time classified staff members who have been employed by Shepherd University for at least one year. Kristina is the daughter of Barbara Kandalis, who works as a program assistant in Shepherd’s Office of Academic Community Outreach.

“My scholarship has given me the opportunity to have the college experience I’ve always wanted with no financial worries,” says Kristina, who also serves as a resident assistant to help offset the cost of her room and board. “I genuinely believe receiving this scholarship has made my Shepherd experience the most positive it could possibly be!”
