Scholar Spotlight: Recreation and Leisure Studies Major Cindy Brockman

This week the Scholar Spotlight shines on Cindy Brockman, a junior from Shepherdstown majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies. Cindy is the proud recipient of the Dr. Vince Gonino Scholarship, saying, “Dr. Gonino is someone who inspired me to make a difference. His scholarship has helped me pay for my college education and aided in my development as a recreation professional. I am very grateful to have received this award – it has made a difference in my life.”

The late Dr. Vince Gonino was a beloved professor of recreation and leisure studies at Shepherd whose personal motto was to “make a difference,” particularly in the lives of his students.
