Scholar Spotlight: Music Education Major Katie Boylan

This week the Scholar Spotlight shines on Katie Boylan, a freshman from Cascade, MD, who is majoring in music education. Like last week’s featured scholar, Katie is also a recipient of the Thomas and Sherry Lurry Memorial Scholarship, showing how one scholarship award can make a difference in the lives of several deserving students at one time.

“This scholarship is helping me pursue my dream of becoming a music teacher,” says Katie, pictured here with her alto saxophone. “With it, I am able to focus on my music and academic classes, and worry less about the financial aspect of my college experience. This award really means the world to me!”
