New Shepherd University Foundation Executive Vice President Appointed
The Shepherd University Foundation is thrilled to welcome James Taylor as the new Shepherd University Foundation Executive Vice President. James started his nonprofit career in resource development with Mile High United Way in 1996. He continued in the nonprofit field with United Way in Tampa, Florida, Washington County, Maryland, and Lafayette, Indiana before starting his most recent position as president and CEO of United Way of Greater Richmond and Petersburg in 2015.
Before moving into the nonprofit community, James started his career as a hospital chaplain in Denver, Colorado. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics. He also earned a Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
James and his wife, Amy, have twin 23-year-old sons and family in Hagerstown, Maryland and Waynesboro, Pennsylvania as well as in Blacksburg. The Shepherd University Foundation is happy to welcome James to the Shepherd community. He will join the Foundation team on December 5, 2022.
