New Scholarship Established in Support of Football

Shepherd graduate James Barry “Huntz” Hall ’57 has established a new scholarship in support of Shepherd Rams. The Barry “Huntz” Hall Annual Football Scholarship is designated for Virginia residents who play the position of running back or defensive back on the Shepherd University Football team.

During his time at Shepherd, Barry was a two sport athlete, playing both football and baseball from 1953-1957. His athletic career included membership on the 1955 undefeated Shepherd football team and he was inducted into the Shepherd Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.

This new award is Barry’s second scholarship at Shepherd. Barry previously established the James Barry “Huntz” Baseball Scholarship. With the Barry “Huntz” Hall Annual Football Scholarship, he will continue to support the ongoing success of Shepherd athletics.
