Join Department of English and Modern Languages chair Betty Ellzey and the Shepherd University Rude Mechanicals Medieval and Renaissance Players as they offer a glimpse into their fall 2019 production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Is it a lighthearted day dream or an anxiety-ridden nightmare—or both? Come to the kick-off event for this season’s Scarborough Art and Lecture Series and decide for yourself! Between special glimpses of the upcoming production, Dr. Ellzey will discuss how her creative style as a director is informed by her interest in Shakespearean theater. A dessert reception will follow the presentation. This event is free and open to the public.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will run November 1-10, 2019 at Reynolds Hall on the campus of Shepherd University. Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on November 1, 2, 8, and 9; at 3 p.m. on November 3 and 10; and at 8:30 p.m. on November 7. Performances are FREE for Shepherd University students, faculty, and staff. Tickets are $2 for all other students and $10 for the general public. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
