The Scarborough Society of Shepherd University will be hosting its annual gala on Friday, August 14 at the Bavarian Inn. The Scarborough Society of Shepherd University was founded in 2002 to endow and strengthen the Shepherd University library system, and the annual gala is the Society’s major social and fundraising event.
Proceeds from the gala provide funds to support and enhance library collections, programs, and technology. Additionally, the group sponsors a yearly art and lecture series that features local authors and artists.
This year’s theme will be “The Garden of Time,” based on the short story by J.G. Ballard. The event will feature food stations and dancing under the stars.
