The Scarborough Society of Shepherd University will be hosting its annual gala on Friday, August 9 at the Bavarian Inn. The Scarborough Society of Shepherd University was founded in 2002 to endow and strengthen the Shepherd University library system, and the annual gala is the Society’s major social and fundraising event.
Proceeds from the gala provide funds to support and enhance library collections, programs, and technology. Additionally, the group sponsors a yearly art and lecture series that features local authors and artists.
This year’s theme will be Circe, based on the popular Madeline Miller novel exploring the Greek mythology fantasy world.
The event will feature food stations and dancing under the stars to popular band Souled Out. Tickets for the event are $150 ($110 tax-deductible). You may purchase tickets online here.
