A message regarding COVID-19

We believe it is important to keep our alumni and friends informed and updated during this unprecedented and rapidly-evolving COVID-19 pandemic. With that in mind, on March 18 the university made an important announcement regarding the remainder of the spring semester. Beginning March 30, Shepherd University will complete the Spring 2020 semester through online instruction.

View the full announcement here.

The Shepherd University Foundation and the Office of Alumni Affairs have also elected to cancel, postpone, or virtually format most of our events through the end of the semester. Please follow our Facebook page and Upcoming Events for continued updates.

As you may imagine, our students are experiencing a wide range of emotions right now – particularly our seniors whose final semester will not play out as they had anticipated or hoped. Without a doubt, this is an unprecedented time in our history as a university and as a nation. However, our RamFam is united in their dedication to Shepherd, and we are ready and willing to come together as a virtual community during this time of necessary social distancing.

As this situation continues to evolve, please visit https://www.shepherd.edu/covid-19 for the most up-to-date information.

Additionally, in a continuing effort to maintain a safe campus for everyone during this time, the Shepherd University Foundation and Office of Alumni Affairs will keep their offices in McMurran Hall closed to walk-in traffic during regular office hours (M-F, 8 am – 4:30 pm) until otherwise noted. We have chosen to take this step in accordance with university guidelines and CDC guidance in limiting person-to-person contact. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

At this time, Shepherd University is continuing its administrative operations and essential services while conducting business as safely as possible. Many of our staff are working from home for all or part of each workday. We encourage you to contact us by phone and/or e-mail with any questions, concerns, or Foundation-related business. A list of staff phone numbers and e-mails may be found on our Contact Us page.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. Take good care of yourselves, your family, and your friends.

With deep appreciation,

Monica Lingenfelter
Executive Vice President
Shepherd University Foundation
